Sam Sisakhti

Founder, Believe in Yourself Project

Sam Sisakhti founded the Believe in Yourself Project in 2016. He is also the founder of UsTrendy, an online fashion marketplace that grew into a Top 100 online retailer, with more than 20,000 sellers from 100 countries.

Sam's own entrepreneurial journey shaped his belief in the importance of perseverance and believing in yourself. Before raising funding from venture capitalist Tim Draper, he was turned down by more than 150 investors. Those experiences stayed with him and became part of the message he wanted to share with young people.

The idea for Believe in Yourself began with fashion. Through UsTrendy, Sam had racks of brand-new, unworn sample dresses from designers. He began giving the dresses to girls who otherwise couldn't afford one for a school dance or special occasion. Seeing how much the dresses meant to the girls inspired him to turn the idea into a larger initiative.

Since then, Sam has traveled across the country, from Boston to New Orleans, delivering dresses through Boys & Girls Clubs. The Project also brings in speakers and mentors to encourage girls to set goals, believe in themselves, and hear firsthand stories from people who have overcome obstacles in their own lives.

The goal is simple: to give girls confidence, encouragement, and the belief that they can overcome challenges and accomplish more than they may think is possible.
